Dr. Wu received her B.S. in Biology from Peking University, China. She conducted her graduate research in the laboratory of Kang Shen at Stanford University, working on molecular and cellular mechanisms regulating synapse formation and axonal transport. She subsequently conducted her postdoctoral research in the laboratory of Daniel Geschwind at UCLA, where she combined functional genomic approaches with experimental systems to understand the molecular underpinnings of autism spectrum disorder. She later worked in Weizhe Hong’s laboratory at UCLA, studying neural mechanisms underlying animal social behaviors. She applied and developed single-cell RNA-sequencing techniques to dissect the molecular and functional cell type diversity and sex differences in a critical social brain area. She further investigated the neural circuitry governing prosocial behavior by combining novel behavioral paradigms, in vivo calcium imaging, functional manipulation, and computational approaches. She joined the Departments of Neurobiology and Biological Chemistry as an Assistant Professor in February 2024.

We are currently seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic postdocs and graduate students to join us!
